Why a project purpose sheet?

As in any continuous improvement initiative, it is important to check that the project purpose falls within the overall strategy of the organization.

Here are a few questions to ask to clarify the purpose of a project and help you engage others to support and participate in the improvement effort.

• Why would you pick up this project?

• Does the project in line with the work that goes on in the business to deliver the value proposition the business has for its customers and other stakeholders?

• What is the (measurable) goal of the project?

• What is the mission of the organization?

• What about effectively accomplishing this project would make you proud

• In what way would you be proud of others by accomplishing this project?
